4/26 Strawberry River -- 12m PL Synergy: RIP Strawbs 2008?

It was warm, and the wind was holey. Managed to get upwind to the NW into the S River campsite. Decent wind in the straight there. Snow was fast and forgiving. Met up with Mike Loeser on his 12.5 Montana. There was also an unidentified Waroo 15 pilot, and a traveller from NJ on an Access 2 (8m?) as I was leaving.

Coverage is still very nice at S River and Cat-o-nines, but Coop creek is more sage than snow (or looked like it, at least), Chicken Creek E is bare on the hilltop with quickly receding snow at the roadside, and water is showing through near the shore everywhere. Some of you may still get some more rides up there, but I think I hear the bell tolling for Strawbs. It has been an awesome season. My first realization of just how epic that place is. Rode Skyline once this season, and I don't miss it at all. Viva la Strawbs!!

<pours one out for dead homie>
