Had an amazing 10 days in South Padre Island visiting my brother Kevin and friends. There's quite a crew of SLC/PC kiters down there in the spring and we definitely had ideal conditions. Spent a few days riding the North flats but most of the time we were riding at Holly beach, on the mainland side of the Laguna Madre, where the wind is much more stable. Rode a variety of conditions but most days were on the 9m or 13m. There was only one day I did'nt get to ride, but that was because of too much wind.

I'm totally stoked with my new kit, riding Ozones 07 9m edge, 07 13m Sport, and 06 15m Sport , I also had a chance to ride a shop kite from SPIkiteboarding ,the 08 Naish Cult 7.5m on a high wind day, which was fun, but I definitely loved the feel of the Ozones. I rode a Nobile 555, which I also picked up this spring and was super happy with my choice. What an amazing difference from the 158 Cabrinha Prodigy I have learned on. The board races upwind, cruises through chop, and seems to have pretty good pop, which helped me land my first few airs. I actually came home with a torn abdominal muscle from working on boosting and backrolls....it was worth it.

Looking forward to some sessions here with the Utah crew.

Daryl,

Glad you had a great trip. SPI is an awesome place to ride.

I also tore an abdominal muscle when I was first learning how to jump. It pays to keep your core strong. See you out at Rush.
