7/4 Had the singular pleasure of first carpooling, then sailing with my longtime sailing buds Grant Sr. and Grant Jr., Jr. being the former local ripper turned esteemed professor of unpronounceable German Studies back east (not too far from the Outer Banks, though). Carpooling was fun recollections of ancient Ultra Cats and backwhenRushwasfull days. Sailing G-ville was plenty fun. I rigged 6.7 and the manly Gmen rigged big, 7.7 and 8.5. The wind backed and filled with the arrival and departure of small virga cells coming over the Stockton Bar so at some point everyone was rigged perfectly or not. Lots and lots of rides, with big smiles and smackdown talk of so-and-so's jibes on the beach. Josh, Rob, Sir UWA Commodore Reginald Henninger, Ken, Layne, Tim on his new Futurama. Great fun, shoulda brought da barbie and lots more beer. We headed out at 12:00 and Rick was laying smokin' lines down on the Jimmy Lewis speedboard. Great day!

And Ken, I only did one face plant, the rest were head plants, or butt plants, or ....

Note: Dimitri layed down one of the smoothest planing duck jibes I've seen on big gear in a while! Oh, that was after he asked a few of us for tips on duck jibing! Luckily for us, we knew better than to give advice to the master.

No kidding about the barbie...
