11/29 Mojave 15m Waroo

I was originally planning a trip to Mojave with a stop in Vegas, but ended up with a trip to Vegas with a stop in Mojave. A week ago, the forecast looked like rain for the weekend, so I decided to bag the camping and booked a room in Vegas. In the end, the forecast looked better so i ended up making the drive down from Vegas on saturday. Arrived around noon to 8-10 mph winds, set up and waited an hour or so. The wind picked up a little, to 10-12, so i figured i might as well give it a shot. The wind was better as i got out away from shore and i got an hour+ in on 13-15mph winds before it backed off. Nothing spectacular, but i got to ride a little. Enough wind to stay upwind easily, but not enough to jump more than a couple of feet. Air temp was 75, water temp 55.

Jason, where did you launch from? I saw a kite out at what I thought was 9 -mile, was that you, or were you at Katherine's?

i was at mid-basin cove, which is between 6 & 9 mile. That was probably me as i was the only kite i saw. I did see a windsurfer near the south end of the lake at one point, maybe coming up from katherines. Maybe that was you.
