2/5/9 Monte Cristo 13m Frenzy

Postby Augie » Thu Feb 05, 2009 3:33 pm

Arrived @ 8:30 and no wind. I hiked to the top of the road and still no wind, At 9:30 I called Marty and he said the current reading at Pow Mow was 28 mph. Since that is only a short distance away I felt like it should be windy where I was so I just waited and sure enough right at 10:30 the wind picked up and I launched my 13m Frenzy. Marty showed up a little later on his 13m Instinct and John was flying his 13m Manta. I spoke with some kiters who moved here from Michigan and gave them some local info.

The folks from Michigan ended up at pow mow around 2? or so. I had been there since 10:00. I had a GREAT time on my 11, I probably could have flown a 9 pretty easily. Lots of jumping, and about six different people there, including a crew of 4 from California that had a Super-Dope Truck setup, with a compressor and everything. How was the road to Monte Cristo? Pow Mow was clear the whole way.
