Well, Willard is officially open for the year. The water is coming up fast. The island is almost gone at the north end, but the area between the island and the launch is ice free. It is about the only part that isn't frozen. I would say 98% of the bay is still frozen though I don't think the ice will last long with the warm forcast for later this week. It looks like our days of a protected bay at the north end are gone now that the dike is fixed.
The south wind blew quite nicely all day but pretty much died just as I got ready to launch. Oh well.
I do believe I may be the first one on Willard for this year!

If you look just beyond where I'm at, you'll notice a change in the water consistancy. That is where the ice begins. I got within about 5 to 10 feet and then though the board wouldn't fare well on the ice so I turned and went the other way.
