Got to Mona around 11:30 to whitecaps and winds in the low 20's. We rigged 11's, but by the time we were set up the wind backed off a bit and we pumped the 15's. The wind moved up and down from low-teens to mid-20's for pretty much the whole day, but never backed off enough that i was left sitting in the water. There were definitely a few stretches we were just barely holding down the 15s, but overall it was the right kite. Went out for 2 sessions, the first one an hour and 40, the second just over 2 hours. Probably could have flown the 11 for the last hour, but it just wasn't worth coming in to re-rig. A little disappointing not getting to fly smaller kites, but overall a great first day on the water. (An added bonus for the making the drive was that the water was deeper than 8 inches!) We were joined by three windsurfers out tearing it up.
