Sailed in the forebay for a few tacks before walking over to the small-boat ramp on the river and launching out for the open water. Non stop planing on the outside until 8:30 or the sun went down, whenever that was. Had to tease it up to plane a couple times being 200lbs but nice to ride a 94L in Utah and once up the solid push never let me down. There was not a schlog-reach in the bunch. Just pin it and point it.

Good to see all the other UL launches did well too. Doesn't sound like there was any place significantly better than any other even though the push might have had a touch more west than usual. How is the traffic going to Pelican these days? How is the red neck factor at Lindon? If there is another push I may try Lindon tonight.

Lindon beach was as crowded as I have ever seen it. No Rednecks, but there were 15-20 spanish speaking non wind related users. 5 fishing, ~5 pool toy swimmers and the rest using the picnic pavillions. No conflicts with the windriding group ~6 or so of us. They seemed interested in what we were doing. I did notice several strange behaving boats going up and down the shoreline... :(( http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=6908834

Carl,
Traffic remains nasty going to Pelican Bay... however I tried a more "southern route" going home, which worked well, it takes longer, but you are "moving" the whole time... not sure of the road cooridates... but as I drove north, before you reach the Redwood/Lehi-Smith's intersection, turn east at the "long string of power poles" and hunt and peck toward I-15. It worked well, definitely will use that route again, you miss all the bad stuff.

Hi Carl, I was the one who asked if you need a bigger board. i was worried when i saw you trying to uphaul at the little boat ramp. The last I saw you was when you're coming in from the inlet, with sunset in your back. Nice day!

yeah uphauling was a waist deep affair on the small board but once we got outside it was good fun to the end.
thanks for the info Shawn. it's encouraging. maybe i can get John to give it a try. ever been to Lindon, John? i went once but it's been a few years and things were a bit rough around the edges.
