We arrived to wind @ Rufus, with nice smooth swell, on Sat the 29th. It continued to blow strong for the next 4 days. We hit Doug's, Swell, and the Hatch. Then the rain came, and the wind got really sketchy for 4 more days. There was some wind at Rosevelt, during this time, but we heard that the crowds on the water were pretty bad, and parking was even worse. At the other sites, like Rufus, there was intemitten wind and rain, but it did not look all that fun, or usually even last very long . We got rides on our last day there at the Hatchery, on 6.2's for maybe a couple of hours. 6 out of 10 not too bad...

Many thanks to Sarah, Tim, and Gunars! -- I had the best time windsurfing in a long time sailing 5 days of 5 from 8/28-9/1 on 3.5 - 4.7. Who've thought I could plan a last minute trip to a place I've never been before and hit it so right? It must be the magic of the Gorge and the UtahWindriders Forum! Some said it was not as good as usual being more gusty (especially on Friday 8/28), but I didn't mind, at least once the wind backed off enough so I could venture out on my UWA swap meet 4.5 m2 superdeal. :)))

Hey June, I think you took the wind with you when you left. You did hit it very well indeed. It was fun to meet you and sail. Sounds like Gunnars scored the perfect board for you at the swap. You'll be ready to rock next year! Take Care
