More clearing this PM should still give DC a good dose
of 7/12M wind, but look for that to happen about 1 and last maybe an hour before it degrades into extreme gusts and lulls.

Right in spades about the "extreme gusts and lulls." Also radical direction shifts. Definitely should have gone to Sulfur!! Fellow victims included John D., Sarah, and Linda. John and I trolled for gusts and hoped for improvement for about an hour. Sarah and Linda could tell a disaster when they saw one and left much sooner!

Sarah and Linda came down to Saratoga and ripped until just before sunset. I told John D to come too. You'd have loved it, Jim. Probably solid 5.5/6.0 for you. And the wind quality is not to be underestimated. That coming from someone who sails DC a lot.

Hey we gave DC a good shot.....at least we rigged, Linda got a couple of rides. Then headed for Saratoga, and smooooooooth steady wind. When we drove around the north end of the lake, it was pretty windy. I was worried that I did not have my small board with me, but by the time we got around the west side, and to Saratoga, it was much lighter. I got a bit impatient, and rigged the 7.2 and big board, and went out, on a nice long reach, nicely powered in the straps. Very nice smooth wind, and small rollers, for miles. After about 45 mins, the wind cranked up a couple of notches, and I was over powered. As I headed in, others were heading out on much smaller gear. Darren, even got rides on his 5.2. while most chose in the 6 something range. I rerigged, to a 6.2 and 106, Linda 6.5 / 95, Stu 6.6 / 95, and so on. Wind stayed really nice, smooth for all to have smiles on their faces.
