The perfect day. And a total surprise. 2:00PM… I was headed to Jordonelle to try out the high altitude north, but upon cresting the dam there was a southwest wind line and slight caps. I figured that might be a bad thing for my Jordonelle plans, so I chose to check DCIB. Rigged as big as I had and hoped for at least one gust to break up the slog. At first 7.5 was too small, but the wind just kept on building. Eventually it settled in right in the 7.5 range. All the planets aligned. I had the right equipment, moderate chop, and finally enough ability to enjoy it. What a day! Wind heroin. Then to top it off I drove home in Peak Fall colors while the sunset lit the Canyon. Still can’t get the smile off my face. :)))

5.0, 8.0 retros, 133L futura

Arrived to very light but steady dc flow. Paul, Angie, and Shawn on the beach, all with low expectations. Rigged a 5.0 for some freestyle practice which turned out to be a bit too much sail for trying new things. Paul sees a baby whitecap on the far shore, rigs his 9.5, and by the time he gets out, the wind has cranked a bit and he is getting some fun rides. Rigged the 8.0 retro (my largest) for some really fun shore to shore, in the straps rides 8) . DC Jim shows for a late pm session. Warm and steady wind until the backed off around 6pm or so.
