1/30 Monte

Postby Brian Fox » Sun Jan 31, 2010 9:37 am

Me and Marty decided to give top of Monte another shot. It was blowing good at Pow and Logan Peak so we figured it could happen. I had trouble getting out of the house with all my gear but finally made it up to Hardware Ranch and got on my sled for the ride over. I was pushing it a little to fast because I was running late and there are some huge wooptydoos on the trail. I got bucked clean off my sled at one point. I was pretty sure it was going into the creek with all my gear on it but it just went down the trail aways while I laid there in the snow watching it. When I finally met up with Marty at the parking lot I found that my GPS, headlamp and some other crap flew out somewhere along the way...what a morning! We buzzed up the road to the top and found some decent wind. Snow was pretty damn hard though. All wind blown and what not. I put up my 10m Frenzy cause I thought it would get stronger. Marty put up his 13m inflatable. Pretty fun for about an hour...kinda up and down..then it got sort of light and we lost motivation. Snow needed to be softer but it was fast so thats good. Doesn't seem to have as good a wind up there as Pow, or at least not yesterday. I posted on a sled website and ksl about my GPS and someone already called so hopefully I'll get it back. Pretty fun day!
