4/3 Strawbs CC 13m sport / skis

Arrived just after noon. Wind was stong most of the time for the first hour and a half. Snow was not bad at first but started getting sticky near the end. Last ride of the day I almost got stranded out in the middle of the res with no wind. All in all a very fun spring ride with a dozen or more kites out.

Pretty good day at Strawberry. Finally the snow was supportable with some nice fluff on top although the new snow was getting pretty sticky later in the day. Wind had a very westerly component to it. Lots of kites in the CC area, 2 at the view area, but wind was lighter, a few at the River. Don't know how it was? We saw Mike Hill ripping around at about 12:30, even some powder spray!!! Tom V and I rigged up and rode from 1 to 3 but had to wax up with the flourinated wax mid way through. Tom on Skis, 10m Ozone, I was on a snowboard and 14M Caution. Nice day with no "radiation recrystallization" in the snowpack. WG
