DC should be up around 11AM in the 7.5/12 range but gusty, and hang in with a lull around 2 then a stronger push to
6.5/10 around 3 till dusk.

Unfortunately (or possibly fortunately, I'm not sure which) I elected to attend the early session. Got to the beach a bit before noon; Dave O' was already starting to unload gear. On the beach, which is somewhat sheltered at the Charleston bridge launch, the wind was already gusting into the low to mid twenties and appeared to be building rapidly; normally 6.0 for me, but I wanted to try my 6.6 on my new Powerex RDM. Turned out to be a good call; maxed, but never totally overpowered in the gusts. Just as Craig predicted, the wind lulled out at 2 and Dave and I left. And as Craig predicted, the wind came back just after 3 WITH A VENGEANCE and has been cranking ever since; it's blowing 33 right now and hit 50 a few minutes ago. A couple of kiters took advantage of the second session; I'm guessing Billy was one of them?
