I was in Moab for a Scout camp. Decided to try Ken's to wash off the grime. Wind was blowing 10 - 20 so I pumped 17. Wind was really up and down, but the water felt good on a 100 degree day. Saw another kiter there, but they went downwind fast and had to walk back.

As I got in my truck I received a text from Jake that he was headed to Lincoln, so I hauled as fast as I could and arrived at 8 PM at Lincoln to nuking wind and kites on the beach. Saw a lightening strike and quickly figured out why. The lightening stopped so Jake and I gave it a try. He was on 8M and I was on 7M. Jake was going huge. I couldn't figure out why I could not jump high until I looked at my leader and realized that I had been riding fully depowered for 15 minutes. Pulled out the strap and things got better. The wind continued to pick up, but my kite started deforming on jumps. Realized that it was my fault immediately. In my hurry to get on the water I did not allow the air enough time to flow from the leading edge to the spars on my one pump kite. Oh well, it was 45 minutes of fun with just Jake and I on the water. The swell was sweet and so was the flat water. Wind was shifty and punchy.
