Maui 9/10 - 9/16

Kited 3 days at kite beach and 4 days at Sugar Beach in N. Kihei. Rode 8, 10, 11M. At Sugar Beach, I did a drift launch and kited by myself. Wind was gusty, but no more gusty than DC. I liked it better than kite beach, even though I kited there late in the day with fewer riders. Nice riding in board shorts, honking wind and decent swell. Too bad it has to come to an end.

The kiters here are seriously spoiled for wind. One afternoon everyone was coming in off the water around 4. I pumped 11 and was lit. Only 2 other riders went back out and they were on surfboards and 8m kites. Lou Wainman showed up took a look at the wind for 20 minutes and left. A lot of the kiters here don't own anything larger than a 9. How would it be?

Gotta LOVE Maui... LIfe is relative... Some people take hot baked, fresh out of the oven rolls for granted cuz they get them all the time. And I think, are you crazy, that's a fresh roll right there out of the oven, and you're not going to eat it!? ;))

BTW... N. Kihei is where a kiter had a tiger shark cruise beside him for like a mile...
