10/25 ULSSB 11M and fire

Postby Chris G » Tue Oct 26, 2010 10:42 am

Tyler L and I got there about 2:30 to 7M conditions. We pumped and hung out for a few minutes while the sun was behind a cloud. During this time, the wind slowed a bit. Peter showed up a few minutes later and we went out and rode. I was lit on my 11.5 for an hour or so before the wind slowed and I went in. Billy, Sal, and Trevor were suiting up when I got there and a few of us made a fire (out of the way of course) to warm up. Mark, Chris S, and David K also showed up at various points in the evening to see if they could get some. The wind was up and down for the rest of the session. By 4:30 or so it was Zephyr wind with 12M ride-able gusts. After a few "in and outs" I decided to go home.
It was an interesting session, and the wind was less stable than most of the North we are fortunate to ride, but we had fun and the fire was nice.
On a different note, there were fallen trees all over the dirt road on the way to the beach. It looked like a hurricane must have come through on Sunday night.
Hopefully we get some more water riding before the snow comes.
