3/18, Loveland Pass, CO, foil and skis

I am in Denver for the week and decided I should give Dillon Lake another try. But the wind didn't show up. Well, it was too light for my small foil kite. I recall some CO locals told me about snowkiting at Loveland Pass. It is a place where a lot of back country actions take place. I drop up and feel some pretty good wind coming up from to the ridge. The area is about the same size as Pow Mow. The wind there is more fluky than I'd like. But it was a surprise session so I can't complain. Wish I had my 13 meter with me. I would be able to cut more lines on the sweet late spring snow.

I am going to miss the 13 meter. It has took me from the River all the way to the top of Bosco Hill. I am going to need another Fenzy when I come back in the future.

Looks like a nice day at Loveland Pass 11,990 feet. I remember skiing there and A-Basin when I lived there. Good view of Black Mountain and the Basin in the distance, good south wind spot above tree line there. Next time try to kite over to Grays and Torreys Peaks at 14,200'. Were there other kiters? Whit G

Whit, the wind there is really gusty. The locals told me that the other side (north side) of the parking area is pretty sweet. But people do get hurt there as the wind can be gusting up and down. At 11,9900 feet, I felt pretty tired after just a short session. Can't imagine how it would feel at 14,000.

I was told Hoosier Pass is another nice spot. Will give it a try one of these days.
