By the sounds of it, any Utah Sailor that missed yesterday at Skyline, should be ashamed.... it sounds like it was one of those magic 5 days that randomly appear during the winter... lit SE, damn I missed it too and I feel dirty.

But water cleanses you know.... and I have been jonesing to test the new 2011 water gear that has been piling up at our warehouse this past month. A legit session was needed and I have been watching the wind cycling up & down at Mojave. This south front that is rocking Utah is also rocking the warmer regions of southern Nevada... a road trip was in order.

Found myself riding with a single windsurfer, lit on the new 11m Gin Zulu while switching off on all the different Xenon twin tips. Warm enough for board shorts on the beach, and a shorty in the water. Felt a little warmer than summer in the Gorge, or maybe about the same, not bad at all for mid March. Wind was a true south direction, clean and strong. The swell was mid height, as the wind had only been pushing it for a half a day when we arrived. Crystal Clear water that you can see the bottom 30 feet deep.

Great afternoon session with perfect wind. Fell in love with my new kite right out of the bag. Gin, having a paraglider background, know how to make a kite that feels like a wing, and I love that feeling in a kite. Funny to say this, but Heather noticed I was jumping higher on the water on this kite than I have been all winter on the snow (gliding excluded, as its a different sport). Anyway, great session at a great lake... I hope to share the experience with more Utah wind riders this summer, as Mojave is top ten.
