5/15 Lindon 10m

Postby Jason Klein » Mon May 16, 2011 7:10 am

DC didn't look promising with SE winds forcasted, but i started the day with a stop there just in case. Arrive to about 10 people waiting around and sure enough, not much wind there and what there was seemed close to due east. Headed down to lindon. When i pulled into the lot there wasn't a whitecap in sight, but by the time i got down to the beach the wind kicked up. Tyler launched a 13m and went out for 5 mins before being blown off the water. Wind was full on 10m by the time i pumped. Kited for about 4 hours with wind varying from scarey lit to just enough on the 10m. Seemed like the wind finally came around SW and filled in solidly right after i came in around 5:30. From reading the other reports, seems like lindon wasn't nearly as hairball as some other locations. nice day. Sherwin throwing frontrolls with a grab: you got some set of balls getting better than me while i wasn't looking.

I got to Lindon to witness a bunch of kiters in the middle of the lake trying to make the best out of SE wind. I listened to the Lindon Locals and waited a hour or so for it to come around SW after watching the scary launches around the Gazebos. I went out on 8m surfboard and had a gret session intill 7ish whent the wind died out.

Lindon Rocks! It was not the UL hair blower we are used to, but the waves there are so fun. Lindon is a booties mandatory launch. My feet are bloody shreds...but I am stoked.

didn't see the scary launches....guess i was having too much fun "making the best" out of lit 10m conditions a few hundred yards out. hope standing on the beach was as much fun....
