Jordanelle 7/10 15m

Had a brief session at Jordanelle yesterday. It didn't look very promising anywhere, so i figured i might as well try the spot with a 10 minute drive time. The sensors in the area were showing 20ish, but they're all higher than the lake. the wind was a very steady (for j-bay) 13-14 when i pulled up. Just like everywhere, the water is really high right now, which actually made launching there easier, and the top of the dam looks like its only 10-15 ft above water level, which i think would contribute to some smoother wind there on a south. A ranger pulled up next to me to not so politely tell me that the 5mph no wake zone applied to me also. Had to bite my tongue to not ask if i had gotten up to 7mph in those strong winds..... Got a big 15 minutes in before the wind lulled enough to drop my kite and i spent 5-10 minutes drifting before a big enough puff came thru to re-launch. Headed straight into shore so i wouldn't get caught again. when i got home about 25 minutes later, there was pretty strong hail coming down. Glad i didn't get caught on the water in that.
