Duchesne Ridge 11-26

Postby matt dadam » Sun Nov 27, 2011 8:53 pm

Rode Duchesne Ridge in the north wind yesterday. Beautiful sunshine and steady 12 meter wind. The snow however was totally jacked from the previously days high winds; pray for snow. Still nice to get out and ride. Ran into Marty and Jon who were out burning some gas.

Here is a link to the location http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=40.48235,-111.04341&ll=40.48235,-111.04341&ie=UTF8&z=12&om=1

Matt, Is the road better than the dirt road up to Timber Lakes?

Highway 35 is open and clear. To get to the kiting area you have to park at the campground and hike about 15 minutes up the road, which is usually packed down by snowmobiles. Its a windy spot with a clean fetch but it needs a northerly wind.
