The predictions about it being late were right on. I got there after 10:00, sat for half an hour and still couldn’t get the 6.0 on a plane. The NOAA discussion was trying to explain why the strong jet wasn’t mixing to the ground. It wasn’t long after I rigged the 7.0 in desperation that I witnessed a touchdown of the jet. A wild crash on the 7.0 after some fantastic speed runs, massacred on the 6.0 after some even more wild screamers. I wish I had the GPS on. Rigged the 4.7 and only got 4 runs before it died back. Oh well. I sailed perfect 5.2 winds on the 6.0 for 2 more hours and was beat. The training on catamarans saved me as the only defense on those boats from wild gusts is screaming speed. Turning upwind only guarantees a flip. I so love speed. Another sweet Grants sesh. It was good to have 3 days of fine wind this weekend, 7 days already this year, as I am off the boards for the next 3 weeks.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
