Apr 7 Pow Mow 10m Manta

Arrived at 11 and I was told in the parking lot that the surface was rock hard. I had noticed some fairly warm temps driving up the hill and it was sunny and 32 when I got to the lot. I decided to give it a shot and was rewarded by fair conditions but still on the hard side. Winds were 20 SW for most of the day. Andy showed up in a short time with several Bay area kiters who wanted a snow lesson. 2 others showed before I left at 3. We are losing snow coverage but still very easy to get around. The extended forecast calls for snow Wed night through Sunday so snow kiting is not dead yet. Pow Mow closes on the 15th.

On a side note-one of the Bay area guys was talking to me when I took a break and said that he is part of the new ownership at Pow Mow. He said that kiting will remain a part of the plan and the grand master plan for expansion has been dropped. It is great to have a kiter be one of the owners.
