Ok. Let's get creative here! There are always SCREAMING south winds in the valley but no water?

Grantsville has a reach of about 500' right now.
Pretty fun sailing right?

What else with a decent reach in the valley?

Decker Lake of course. After all I got a few good days there. Water too nasty? or not?

I'm with you on wishing there was somewhere in the valley to sail. I haven't been to Decker Lake since they cleaned it up, but I did go check out the Discover Card Lake a couple of years back. It's a great location and would certainly be sailable, albeit a very short reach, if it weren't for what I suspect is a VERY high coliform bacteria count due to the high number of Canadian geese that hang out there; a beautiful, grassy shoreline, heavily spotted with goose poop and geese. It's a shame, too, because it is close and a beautiful setting; and in, probably, the windiest spot in the valley. It's too bad that lake isn't cleaner, and running east-west for about a mile or two. That would make it a speed run with smooth water. But, alas, it is not.
