Little Dell Schedule

Postby John Freed » Mon May 15, 2006 10:03 am

With the east wind blowing the last few days, Little Dell might be an option... only problem, until 5/26 they only open the gate to drive down to the lake on Fri, Sat, and Sunday. Therefore, on Mon-Thurs you would have to carry your rig about 1/4 mile to get to the water. Beginning 5/26 the gate will be open daily and you'll be able to drive down to the normal parking areas. Remember... you have to wear a wet/dry suit...

ALLERGIES!!!

Postby stokes » Tue May 16, 2006 2:24 pm

I have been there before to kite and the lanch was fine at the end of the road. BUT, my allergies have never been so bad!!! I was sneezing and itchy for a week, no joke. So if any of you are allergic to mother nature beware!

wet/dry suit- do you mean dry suit? or, will a normal full wet suit work?

wetsuit is fine. The ranger was fine with it.

You must fly the Waroos kite at little dell because the wind up there can be very gusty. Jacob Buzianis

is little dell really worth going to??? I love that place but I wasnt sure if it was allowed or even worth going to....

do you think a 10m would be too much for the gusts because its all I got??

(from my few times of being there) We used bigger kites there actually. The 10 will work fine. It is in a hole so the wind creep in there in a funky direction.

its such a cool reservoir I guess I was just getting my hopes up, its pretty obvious when you go there that the wind is going to be sporadic
