July In Utah...

The air sits around, scratching itself, yawning here and there... We sit with puppy dog eyes, patiently waiting, trying not to upset it into staying put even longer... It shuffles its feet, and like a Labrador Retreiver watching its owner with a ball, we flinch at every move. Begin to dart to the right or left only to realize the wind was yawning, just rolling over, or going to the fridge to get another Utah Skim Beer! Our eyes wide open, drying in the hot dead air... Bloodshot... And we wait... What a crazy but wonderful thing... Retrievers are awesome... Maybe this whole windsurfing thing makes us better people... ;) (actually in my opinion, I strongly believe it does)

Looks like it has even infected the Gorge this week... Just wanted to regurgitate a little there... Hairball...

Truthfully I've been too busy this month to realize what a dead spell of good strong wind it's been... But when I sit down to pay attention the above is so true! In the meantime, I found a European windsurfing website that is very interesting to browse... Lots of pretty cool pics.

Thats pretty poetic dude! Actually I felt like an evil but optimistic vulture circling pineview in the heat destracted by burning flesh of ladies to young for me to look at and dehydration. I returned to my nest settling for the few beers I could find. Climbed into my dark cool basement to carve out a light wind board of plywood in hopes that one day I will be able to ride and satisfy the hunger.

Stinking heat

Postby John Dubock » Sat Jul 22, 2006 10:26 pm

me and Willy Sturgis are so bored we're leaving Sunday for LA to deliver a trailer, turn around Mon AM. We'll be bringing wind in the form of a massive Duelly, which means you can ride in our Southerly wake.

Its either that or join a crack house to get through this muddle.

You know you're a sick windsurfer when you're playing tennis at 7am and you feel a five second puff, you sniff around and its not even enough to tell the direction. You go back when the sun sets and STILL don't feel even a whisper.

Even the quaking aspens have given up hope. Trevor has the right idea, he skied Pipeline Bowl, Snowbird July 4th instead of getting skunked. Hey turns is turns.

Hey dudes, take heart, I found some pretty decent wind - in Utah - on friday. Unfortunately (you knew that was coming, right?) it was at the top of Strawberry Ridge. Not a lot of water up there, alas, but heck, gotta check it out! Whipped out the trusty cell phone and called the weathertalker - 1 MPH from the north! :(
