I'll be sailing the I-80 Acid Ponds between the Tooele and Grantsville exits should anyone wish to join me this afternoon. Been blowing 24-28 for quite some time now, hope it holds.

Skunkfest at the Acid Ponds

Postby bajabliss » Thu Sep 14, 2006 5:54 pm

Cut out of work, blazed a trail to the Acid Ponds, got skunked.

I got to the Acid Ponds just in time for it to start to rain and lightning. The wind crapped out. On the bright side the ponds look delightful (it's all relative) with what appears to be waist deep crystal clear water and a white salty bottom. Indeed, if you suspend your disbelief, one can almost imagine that the white shoreline is actually sand, not salt, and that one is standing on the shore of Aruba and not I-80.

I stuck around and waited until Bob Dylan's "Idiot Wind" came on the XM radio and with that I headed for home.
