While the base will set up nice, and we still may have early rides, this weeks snowfall is but a temptation.
We did the route from Draper to Skyline to Indianhead to Startvation to the Uintas.
Skyline had 4- 6 inch base of fluffy pow. Seems that the trees recieved the other 6 inches as they were plastered with wind blown snow. So the base is not solid nor is it deep enought to cover the rocks.
The snow level is obviously too high still, so of course no snow was found in Schofield yet or at Indianhead pass.
The Uintas offered the best snow conditions, but still on the thin side for the size of the rocks and terrain there. The Uintas are also where I found the first breeze of wind for the day, so I was able to fly a kite, but not powered. The snow here was 8 inches deep and a good thick base, one could ride and not dig into the dirt...but there were a lot of exposed rocks.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good winter of valley snow so we can ride in town this winter.
Windzup,
Brian
