Where to Ride 5/24-5/28

Postby Craig Goudie » Thu May 24, 2007 9:40 am

Today looks like a Good AM Grantsville session (6.5) followed by a fair
DC or SUlfur Session PM (7.5). Some gusty South winds at Rush might
provide a few Kite rides AM, with a possible North shift PM.

It looks pretty much that way all weekend with a few shortwaves rollling
through to boost wind velocities from the South a bit.

Friday looks like a pretty good day at Sulfur (6.5ish) PM. Should be
pretty good at DC also (7.5ish)

Saturday looks better a DC (6.5) and Lighter at Sulfur (7.5) PM
Look for more AM stuff at Grantsville

Sunday looks pretty good at Sulfur (5.5) and DC (6.5),
and AM stuff at Grantsville

And Monday Sulfur (West) , DC( South 11Am -2 PM) , and UL (North PM)
all have potential for planable conditions.

Unfortunately with this mostlly thermal pattern, and prevailing
South and West winds, I think Rush will have to do for Kiteable fun,
though there might be a chance at UL late Monday.
Rush should have Kiteable wind most afternoons, but it will be light
and gusty, and there will also be some potential for those nasty
nasty thunderheads to develop in the afternoon, so keep a weather eye
out for dangerous gusts.

If I were Windsurfing and camping out, I might try someplace close to Sulfur
or DC for the weekend. If I heard the Kite calling, I'd probably tough it
out at Rush.

Good luck out there, I'm off to My Son's wedding in Colorado. I'll be
posting again next week on Tuesday (from the Gorge).

Enjoy!
