Craig and Dimitri, thanks for the response on how to refinish a board. The paint store said that if the surface is already finished with epoxy nothing but epoxy will stick to it. So I bought clear epoxy finish, the kind that has to be mixed 1 to 1. Unfortunately, because the primary use is to finish concrete floors, it only comes in gallon containers for a total of $80. I gulped at the cost but a new board runs near 2 grand so oh well. Each of the parts looked opaque in the cans which worried me but once applied it was clear. I used salt for the texture because Penny had some un-iodized salt she was trying to get rid of. Anyway, the surface came out beautiful. It really brings out the wood grain and I have plenty of traction. I have already sailed it 4 times and it is holding up well. Thanks again.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
