Sulfur should provide afternoon wind today in the gusty 7.5 range.
For Kiteboarders, UL East launches should provide some early evening
planable conditions for a couple hours predinner sesh. Windsurfers might
get a few 8.5 rides on big gear at Saratoga Springs Park also.

I've stopped commenting on Rush because there doesn't appear to be
enough liquid out there.

Tomorrow it's desperation 10M sailing at Sulfur, but the UL North wind
should again be pretty planable form about 4 to 8 PM.

Craig,

I went to Rush last week. It is pretty much over out there. There was an open stretch of water about 150 feet across and 3" deep.

I am glad that you are back in town. I am trying to figure out why ULSSB did not fire last night. Bluffdale looked really good. The Provo airport showed that the wind arrived, albeit weaker than I would have predicted.

I have seen it when the indicators look good, but the direction switches a lot which in turn diminishes the wind strength by the time it reaches ULSSB. Perhaps that is what happened last night?

Les,

Don't feel bad. SSB can be so fickle. I wish I could figure out what happened on Sunday. I have never seen the wind that strong at Bluffdale and a skunk at SSB.

Was there any wind? If so, how strong was it?

it wasn't your fault les! that was a really weird condition last night. it will happen again- maybe tomorrow?

kenny- it was a nice solid 4-8 mph. there were a few gusts to 13 at lincoln for a brief period, then it backed off. i think you may have gotten a few runs in on your flysurfer and glide, but i have learned better than to head out when you can't see wind coming. just enough wind to make us all bitter.

I gotta say, just standing in ankle deep water on a sandy bottom looking out at the fresh warm water and setting sun was spectacular. I cant wait to kite there. Stepping over hillbilly bottles and trash on the infield, and rolling up my kite over a diaper and wetwipes was less than spectacular. I'll bring a garbage bag next time and some wind.

Les,

Bring some squito repellent as well. Those babies are nasty once the sun sets. Fortunately, the wind died back before the sun set last night. I was only bit 5 or 6 times.

Weird thing about the wind on Monday. It was stronger at SSB and Lincoln than what the readings at the Provo Airport indicated. I figure the wind was close to 15 mph for 2 hours.
