Vegas or bust

Postby windzup » Fri Aug 03, 2007 4:28 pm

Tamatoa and I are back in SLC for a day to recover from too much riding in Nor-Cal. The sweet forecast calls for Vegas and Lake Mojave Saturday-Monday, and then we will continue to the So-Cal coast for some beach action.

Anyone up for a Vegas weekend should caravan down with us. We would prefer to ride locally in Utah... but its T-heading here and 20mph in the warm Mojave.

If it looks possible, we'll squeeze out a Utah session Saturday on the way down. I'll check back on here to see if anyone is riding locally in the morning!

Should have left this morning!!!!!

Friends at 6 mile cove were launching 12 meter kites at noon.

The Ozone train leaves at 4am for a SUN/MON trip... its calling for 20-25 plus next two days.

Join us or ummm sit around and watch TV!!

But seriously, there is no wind here, we should all rent a bus and head south :D

EPIC....EPIC....EPIC...

You should have been there man! \

So we leave Mt. Plez Sunday at 5:00 am, arriving on the water by 11:00am. We flew 9 and 11 meter instincts on small boards till 8pm. Sick

Monday we flew 9 and 11m Instincts while Tamatoa took out a 7m Edge to show us that wake style can be more impressive with smaller faster kites. He was right. He could rail upwind faster on a 7m than I could on an 11m... its amazing to see the drag of bigger kites side by side. Small is the trend!

Next two days look EPIC here so we are staying... like seriously for good... I may not come back to Utah until there is snow...its giving up too much buttery goodness. Oh and Marty, the swell is sweet with 6 foot rollers.

Did I mention the water is crystal clear, bathtub warm and a nice sandy beach.

Later Dudes!
