Weather Observation Stations

I think a worthy project to take on is linking some new and existing weather stations to the internet. For example, I believe quest owns the weather station at Powder Mountain at the towers. Monte Cristo is supplied with power near the snowmobile area. Does it blow over Avon divide. It'd be nice to keep tabs on Pineview near wind surfer beach or at the spillway. Anybody have experience with HAM (Radio) weather stations or cellular connected weather stations. Do wind measuring devices freeze up with ryme?
