Anyone going out on friday the 25th?

Rachel and I have all day off and want to go somehwere. It didn't dump tons of fresh power to mandate a day of snowboarding and doesn't look like it will till the end of the weekend so we figure Kiting would be a good call. We're beginners though and want to find the best spot. The forecast looks to favor Pow-Mow. Is Powder Mountain a decent open area with flatter terrain? If you get a pass there can you snowboard with the same pass if the wind sucks or do you have to spend another $30 to get the snowboard pass? What's the skinny?

I'm going to SkyLine with Kenny. We'll be there around noon.

Big Wave Dave,

The difficulty at PowMow is getting from the parking lot to the riding area. If you hike over on the cat track and then setup on the hillside it is doable, but you will be riding on a gentle hillside, not a flat area. If you decide to go there, try to meet up with someone that can point out where to setup and where you will be riding. It can be confusing for those who have never been there before.

The best place (and surest best for wind) with wide open flat terrain is probably Sulphur Creek today.

Skyline does have a open flat area adjacent to the parking lot. Mike Rossberg and I will be there today. Wind forecast is for 5 - 15. That usually means wind, but you never know til you get there at Skyline. Winds aloft look promising.

Hank and I will be there about 11:30. Les will be there in the morning. I would be happy to show you around. Make sure that you drive to the Hidden Lake lodge and not the main parking lot. I am pretty sure that you can excahnge the kite pass for a ski pass if you want-ask at the ticket window. cell 210-8205.

Thanks for the responses guys and the offer Augie. I'm sure we'll hit you up soon enough but I think we're going to try to join Mike and Kenny at Skyline. I've only been there twice (a couple years ago to try to get into the sport) and have been skunked both times so I'm hoping for better luck this time.
