Pineview winds

Fickle as hell. I thought that since the wind was nukin yesterday, and there was a pretty good west component to it I could go get some after work kiting in at Pineview. The point forecast even said 14-18 West wind. I drove up the canyon and the wind sock by the water treatment plant by the dam was halfway full. I got to the parking area 1/4 mile past the treatment plant and even walked out on the ice and nothing. Not even desperation kiting. I guess I never learn. By the way the snow surface is prime, with about a foot and a half of light fresh fluff. I am still waiting for that elusive day when you can go anywhere on Pineview.
I think I found a field on HillAFB where I could ride out by the bomb dump-Since I work there I'm going to keep the gear loaded in my car.
