Trade - Rock Climbing Lessons for Kiteboarding Lessons

Postby Kenny » Fri Jun 13, 2008 8:55 am

I am interested in learning how to rock climb as a good sport for non-windy days, plus I would like to teach my children how to rock climb. I am interested in first learning how to top rope and then sport climbing. I am looking for an experienced climber to help me out, someone with at least 5 years of experience. I have done some climbing at a local rock gym, so I know the basics. I live in Sandy.

In return, I will teach you how to kiteboard. I have been kiteboarding for 8 years on the water, snow, and land. I am not typically an instructor. However, I have all the gear and I am as familiar with the sport and all safety aspects as any instructor available. Send me a PM if you are qualified and interested.

Bishop.

I worked as a instructor at the Army mountain warfare school for 6 years I taught basic to solo lead climbing as well as alpine mountaineering....well and a bunch of other stuff that has no practical use unless your getting shot at! I would gladly spend some time with you and your fam in exchange for your glide.

I allready know how to kite......and I am always looking for stuff to do when there is no wind.

I used to climb around the cottonwoods and know a bunch of great easy spots. I started climbing in 1989.

Kenny,
I'd be happy to take you out as well, just for the fun of it. I take my 6 & 9 yr olds out, have taught many friends and have been climbing since 92. Don't make it up the tough stuff like I used to but still know how to be safe and have fun. I have one kids body harness and several other harnesses and misc shoes, not too many kids sizes though. Plenty of gear for TR'n and sport climbing and a full rack if you want to do some trad climbing sometime.

Billy, Daryl, and Josh,

I would love to climb with any of you whenever you have a chance. I have the gear for top roping and sport climbing. However, my experience so far has been in a gym.

I've been climbing since '87 and brought quite a few individuals into the sport. We take our kids occassionaly as well. I'd be happy to get out and help you get where you want to get with the climbing thing. I remember when I learnd in '87 I was so depserate to climb I would wander up to Gate Buttress by myself and just ask guys that were there climbing if they'd mind draggin my rope up and giving me a belay. I met a lot of great climbing partners that way. In the last couple years we've been hitting the freeride biking hard but we are trying to get more climbing in again this year so shoot me a PM and we'll get out.
