5th line bar to 4 line safety- HELP!!!!

Postby MikE mAy » Wed Nov 29, 2006 1:38 pm

so i unpacked my naish V4 last weekend to set it up for snow. i found some very helpful loops on the back of the kite to attach my 5th line to. i think i've got that part all set up fine. i'll have a bit of slack, but that's what i would envision i'll need.

but, i have the newer style naish 5th line bar. not the white one for this year, but the one two years ago with the red and blue and black. it looks to me that i cannot set up this bar with a 4th line safety. the rear line attachment points just hook to the bar with no ring like on my slingshot. is there a conversion i can do so i can use it with my newly converted kite? can i just buy some rings and tie them in? i would imagine that with my fith line attached at the rear of the kite in two points that releasing to this safety is not desirable. on another note, can i just use my slingshot bar? i think they are about the same width. different line lengths, but same pigtails and all. i've never switched the two, and it's been a while since i got down and dirty with my kites.

i want to use the naish this weekend if the winds are right, but then again i may just demo windzup's kites.

also, i bought an ATL kit for my fuel. has anyone on here set one up before? any tips or suggestions?

thanks!

I have attached many ATL to kites.
I can do it for you.
No easy explanation here.
Just come by my store.
Have the kite tips accessable.
I can do it really quick.
Install the battons ahead of time.
You will need to add a longer piece of line to your fifth
to make up for the ATL length.

Fuel ATL's

Postby Jon Manwaring » Wed Nov 29, 2006 5:59 pm

Mike,
If you are trying to attach the ATL to the 17M Fuel that I sold you, it probably won't work. I don't think that the 04 Fuels were made for ATL's I think only the 05 and 06's could have the ATL's. Also I think the ATL's are year specific, ie 05 ATL for 05 kites. In 04 people, Doug, sewed back loops to the struts to rear launch them. Marty know's what he did. PM me if any questions.
