iWindsurf Plans

Postby kenonstott » Fri Jun 22, 2007 9:30 am

I finally got a Blackberry phone so I will be able to hook up to iWindsurf in the Gorge. FX is $19.95 for 1 month and Wireless Web is $29.95 for 1 month. FX sounds like it has all the features I need. Will it come in well on a Blackberry? What does FX lack that makes it cheaper?

Ken, the difference is the wireless access comes in a watered down version that is really fast and easy to read on your phone. You can access the regular site on the blackberry as well but it was designed with lots of graphics and setup for a big computer screen, not a tiny little blackberry.

Make sure that you set up your alerts though. Especially if your going to the gorge. Set up an alert for each site you would like to sail and your phone will be ringing off the hook. (boy that is an antiquated colloquialism.)

Either way welcome to the crackberries club you will be driving down the road reading wind reports and emails in no time. Please look up to see where your driving occasionally.

Hey guys... can you access iWindsurf info from a regular phone in some kind of watered down version (like a razor phone, it's not too old...), if you subscribe to type of data plan, or do you need to have a blackberry to really make it happen... or do I just call Ken every morning when I'm in the Gorge (which I'll probably do anyway - but you've got to get up early to get him before he's on the water...)

The wireless service should work on most all phones. You don't need a blackberry. But as an addict, YES YOU DO!

John, just make sure you have some sort of data plan with your carrier. I hear stories of people getting iwindsurf then accessing it 10 times a day and their phone bill comes in with a surprise.

I'm really bumed that Verison data/internet, doesn't work in the Gorge. All the other carriers work, but not Verison. I'll still use iwindsurf with the text messages they use.
This phone internet thing is cool. I'm taking a break between session's at Sherman Island, and writing on the forum.....
