3/16/ Pineview 10m Turbo Diesel

Postby Augie » Mon Mar 17, 2008 7:02 am

I was headed to Pow Mow yesterday when I saw that there was I stiff North wind at Pineview. I parked at the windsurfer beach area and rigged the 10m. Launched and went upwind past the boat marina all the way to the end of the ice. I did a fast downwinder and turned left into Middle inlet. I went all over and up both bays then came out went all the way around Cemetery point on one tack and into Anderson cove. The wind was stronger out in the middle of the reservoir and I made several high speed passes. I went past a couple of cross country skiers who thought it was cool. Kited for 2 hours straight and then I went home. The wind was pretty gusty but the bow kite just sucked them up. I am starting to think that maybe the best direction for wind at Pineview is north? Marty what do you think?

in all the years windriding Pineview,
I've only had a couple of good north days (on the water)
Don't know if it has to be ripping from the north like yesterday,
Maybe we have just been missing the opportunity.
Still have launch issues when the water is high, and beaches crowded.
