Interesting day for me. From the mesonet it looked like we might get alittle wind. I figured it would be light so I only put my 14m. in the truck. As I was leaving the house it seemed windy. I'm a few blocks from home and I'm thinking I better turn around and get my 10m. Nah, Craig said it wasn't going to blow so I'll chance it. I get to the lake and it's looking like 10m. Shiit! So I'm trying to convince myself that I'll be alright on the 14, but I'm definitely worried. I pull the kite out of the back of the truck and I see a flash of green. That's weird, I look closely and it's the 10 fricking meter! Somebody was looking after me. I was powered up the whole time.
Todd managed to hold down his Zephur somehow. When I first went out, Jake and Don were on the water. I got out there and I'm looking around and I see Don but not Jake. I looked for Jake for awhile but figured he must have gone in behind me as I was launching. About a half hour later there he is swimming his equipment in. Sorry Jake, I would have helped if I knew. You must be warm blooded because I would have been an ice cube.
The whole time I was out there I was thinking how much better it would have been if I was on the Gunnison River (Elk Creek) which has much better wind.
