Interesting day for me. From the mesonet it looked like we might get alittle wind. I figured it would be light so I only put my 14m. in the truck. As I was leaving the house it seemed windy. I'm a few blocks from home and I'm thinking I better turn around and get my 10m. Nah, Craig said it wasn't going to blow so I'll chance it. I get to the lake and it's looking like 10m. Shiit! So I'm trying to convince myself that I'll be alright on the 14, but I'm definitely worried. I pull the kite out of the back of the truck and I see a flash of green. That's weird, I look closely and it's the 10 fricking meter! Somebody was looking after me. I was powered up the whole time.

Todd managed to hold down his Zephur somehow. When I first went out, Jake and Don were on the water. I got out there and I'm looking around and I see Don but not Jake. I looked for Jake for awhile but figured he must have gone in behind me as I was launching. About a half hour later there he is swimming his equipment in. Sorry Jake, I would have helped if I knew. You must be warm blooded because I would have been an ice cube.

The whole time I was out there I was thinking how much better it would have been if I was on the Gunnison River (Elk Creek) which has much better wind. ;))

I launched Zephyr a little before 4 and "closed the bar" when the moon came out. It was sooooo nice to have a powered, warm session in late October. Speaking of session - I have been taking trash from the parking area home with me. Tonight I took home a "session" bottle. I know it's ours. Let's keep that property owner's land free of our trash, and even pick up other people's garbage while were at it. I think I can tell which trash is ours, but I bet the owner of that property can't. :88

My sentiments precisely, Don. My tripod-mounted windmeter at DCIB recorded a maximum gust of 24 mph, but it seemed stronger than that, especially off of SBB. Best DC session in a long time!

Don gave me advice to go with a 11m, but i wanted to kite not pump again. Zephr rules as it handled wind beautifuly. Could have made a 11m work for a while but wind calmed down after a while and was jazzed on zephr. 21/2 hours of sweet fall air!!!!
