May 6 ULSSB

Arpi, Ryan and I had a nice evening session. Ryan got the best of it since it lulled a bit and both Arpi and I called it a rap. Then 30 minutes later it really filled in nicely. Water temp is about 25 deg warmer than my last post and I am trying not to exaggerate. It was very comfortable in a full suit. Apri and I experience the Utah version of a corral reef. Because the wind lulled on us and we were out west of the beach we came back (to both of our chagrin) a bit down wind and hit the beach (not really a beach) on the west side. That would seem like no big deal but the rushes stubble under the water were like walking on 2-4 inch rebar sticking out of the ground. It was definitely tough on the bare feet.

I was on a 13m and a big board. Arpi was on a 20m and a 150 board. Ryan was originally on a 16m and big board then after it filled in on a 138cm? board.

My guess is that the wind was 11 mph with gusts to 11.5 and lulls to 10.5 mph. Smooth baby!!! Then add a few mph for Ryan (lucky dawg).

Billy the launch wasnt to bad,,, it reminded me of sherman Island.. Dean thanks again for letting me ride your board it made all the differance, after you guys left the wind stayed the same with that east in it, when i would head west i felt like i had plenty of power(i love the rollers at UL)then on my tack back i felt like i had no power. Like Dean said the water temp is nice... My highlight was chasing the the ducks back behind the reeds in the butter water, i could have reach out and touched it.... Great sess I rode till 845 or so... I hope it fires today....

Let me know if you guys are planning on heading out there (ULSSB) today. I would like to come check out the scene and observe launches from that site. Thanks!
