Lincoln Beach blow out

Postby Mark Johnson » Tue Jun 10, 2008 9:09 pm

Many showed but few had the small kites to ride the nuking wind. The last bit of good sunlight before the clouds rolled in Jake and Billy got good rides on I think a 9m and 7m. Not sure the size of the winsurfer. I left early did anyone go out again?
Here is a link to some 3 or 5 pages of pictures I took!
Videos will go on youtube when I get a chance.
Lincoln nukefest is the name of the album.
I can send the high res pics if ya see any you like.

Thanks for the pics Mark! I felt wierd pulling the windsurfing stuff out amongst you guys, but I'm glad I did. The conditions were pretty incredible. Waist to head high ramps with lots of room between the swells. Being overpowered on the 3.5 made it tough to feel playful though. Liquid smoke coming off the whitecaps at times. Awesome! Hats off to Jake and Billy kiting in those conditions!

My favorite part of the day was watching Jeff and Jared ride skate boards UPHILL using their kiteboards as a sail. Kinda windy.

Mark pic 74 is pretty good. I wanted to sent it to a friend, however the site is asking me to pay for it. Can you repost it here? Thanks Mike

Ya a couple of those pics show a wave breaking off the point of the jetty. A true point break. Someone could have paddled out and surfed the thing like they do on that standing wave in the Gorge out by Roosevelt and the lunch counter rapid on the Snake River. Wish I could have been there.

Glad to hear that. I knew you guys wouldn't let that go to waste. Jake was in one of the pics so it was evident. Good work boys!!!
