It's a little hard to decide on a kite size,
When it's calm in the snowmobile parking lot.
Matt and I checked the peaks for wind on our phones.
I decided on my 11M Edge, cause of my comfort range.
Matt packed both his foils, but decided on 9M when we got to the top.
8 mi. bumpy ride to the top. 19 to 26 mph from a quick wind reading.
We were both very powered when we launched our kites.
So we just rode down hill a ways to find our comfort zone.
(Less wind at lower elevation)
You can't see all of them in the photos, but,
Tons of ridges and draws, with soft fluffy POW in the draws,
and soft snow on most of the flat areas.
We would cut up the POW in one spot, then just move a ways to another stash.
Spencer stopped by while we were taking a break, but he didn't bring gear. (fool ; ;)) )
Days like this are why I'm really glad I bought my sled.

Matt had on a helmet cam. Him jumping, with his shadow on the ground.

I made a couple of panorama shots.

How did you like the steep rolling hill when you go down the valley?

There a lot spots like this in that area if you go farther northeast and southeast. Lake Creek still the best spot to snowkite because it works great in all wind direction and terrian features are SICK.

I'm glad you had fun.

See you out there soon!

Marty,

Thank you for the description and the excellent photos. Looks like a great place to kite. I hope one day to own a sled, need to talk the wife into it first.
