2-7-09 Skyline 2.5 to 17m all powered

Bunch of folks today at Skyline. The Utah U Kite Club showed up for a group clinic with 26 newby kiters... Thanks to Devon and Jake Walker who are heading up that program and motivating so many new kiters to come play in the snow. Several other local kiters as well as a guy from Wisconsin.

Best SE winds I've ever seen at Skyline, strongest that is. Kind of making it one of the more special experience days hitting new angles and territory. Sunset was epic and only three kites left in the sky.

Kenny needs a parachute... thats all I have to say :) He was flying off the cornice on a 17 while I was kiting uphill under neath him ripping powder turns on a 7m Frenzy. Thanks for helping teach with the trainers Kenny!

Crazy the wind range. And many of the U students got their first rides on 2.5, 3.5 and 4 meter Imp trainers.

Stayed Blue all day and threatened to snow but never did. The wind stayed strong all day, but did get colder by 3pm.

Skyline was sweet today, love the SE direction. Yes, I did ride the 17 for a while in the morning and then sensibly moved to a 13M Waroo. Not a lot of locals there today, but a huge group of U of U students. It was fun helping to teach them. They had a lot of stoke and were doing great on 2.5 - 5 M Ozone kites. Local faces I recall are Chris Nestor, Don, Devon, Woody, Patrick, Jake Walker and of course our talented hosts - Brian and Heather. They put on a nice bbq for lunch - thanks!!!

Much thanks to the riders who went to Strawberry and PowMow for posting. Glad to hear that both locations were rideable today. Gotta love snowkiting in Utah!
