3/22 Skyline 3.7m Yakuza GT and Skis

10's were the call most of the day, some held down 11's maybe bigger, but not necessary with the stronger gusts. Flew several Manta 3 prototypes with Rob. My favorite new kite tho is a small and fast mofo... the 3.7m Yakuza. Its fast and maneuverable and had as much power as a 10m foil or blimp.

Its like what Bruno Laganeaux (misspelled) has been saying about the future of water kites... smaller and more powerful kites will replace the overly large kites the market currently relies on. This sub 4 meter kite was so quick that it generated as much power as a kite over double its size. But, currently, these small kites are high aspect and are only for capable kite fliers that know how to fly a kite (not just hang on to a bar) as the kite require lots of attention. Yet, learning is simpler than learning to control a big blimp.... just spend a few hours on a handle kite learning the nuances, and bam, you are ready to fly small advanced kites.

Next winter, I may not fly bigger than a 6 or 8 meter.... the future is here.

Brian, I am surprised by how powerful my 3 meter trainer is. Even at wind below 10 mph, I have to really lean back when I play at the 10 am - 2 pm position. For a speed junkie like myself, I think a kite with little to no lift but lots of power and control will do well in the market since most people will not want to do the free style stuff.

BTW, "Yakuza" means gangster in Japanese.
