Kyrk helped me understand the need to leave work a bit early, and I'm grateful for it. We headed up to Strawberry hoping to find good wind and snow conditions. We saw 2 kites up at Strawberry river, but thought about going to chicken creek to stay out of everyone's way. the lot was snowed in, so we headed back to the river. We rigged up and headed out at about 4:45PM, Kyrk was on his 11M Waroo and I on the 13M Bularoo.
Visibility was rough, but being newb's the open area made it easier to compensate. Wind was smooth in high teens low 20's. It was the first time in about 15 sessions that both Kyrk and I could kite at the same time. We both were able to get some nice reaches and found that when we headed out North and East of the parking lot the wind was a bit smoother. I practiced keeping my form and was able to tack to the right better than I have before. We both discovered that going down wind was not as easy as we'd expected.
I determined that I need to rig something to keep my harness ride lower as it kept riding up on my torso and restricted breathing. I think rock climbing straps might do the trick. Oh, and don't eat a macho burrito prior to kiting... You'll be tasting it for the second time, over and over again.
At 7:00 we determined that it was picking up enough to probably call it an evening. It was the best session I've had, and hope its one of many more.

You might want to give a seat harness a try; http://www.bigwinds.com/kite/category/47/product/263

I got all sorts of wedgies and bruising on my ribs with my seat harness until I bought a spreader bar pad for about $10. It doesn't ride up nearly as high now, and the rib bruising is over...
