With no sundance meter and no damn meter it was hard to guess if DC would get any wind. About 1:30 Linda and I decided to go and check. It turned out to be a good call. We arrived to some light wind @ IB, and we were the only wind lovers there. We rigged right away, thinking that we would at least get some rides. The first 30 minutes, were schlogg and plane, but then it filled in really nice, and we stayed powered the next couple of hours. We had a sighting of the famous Jim Southwich, who sailed up from Charlston, and sailed a couple of circles around us, then he was gone. Temps were good, until I got my face wet, then it was icecream headache, for the next few minutes. We had one other sailor join us, Rob Smith, who got some good powered rides. Wind stayed good until 5:15.
It's really nice to have the water level up, and not have to do the car shuffle thing. It's rig right out of the back of your car, and launch and go. NICE!
