May 15... Skyline...12m Manta & Twisted Velocity

Another great day on the snow at Skyline. Marty, Heather & Herradura enjoyed the afternoon session. Southerly kicking in with some west. Another creamy day Snowkiting. Flew my new 100 square foot charlie brown kite. Loved it.

Amazed at how well the Twisted Velocity continues to perform...even in corn snow and spring conditions.

Snowkiters are the lucky ones... rode in T-shirts while others wear dry suits... haha.

Brian,
Nice that you are getting some snowkiting in mid-May. It is however now shorty weather at Utah lake! Sal has been wearing the shorty for a few weeks now. I hat the cold and am super comfi in a 3/2. If the air temp got any better you could likely go top only. No need to pull out the drysuit. I am surprised that there is still coverage down there. I've had friends tell me Strawbs is all gone, no ice on the lake whatsoever and snow limited to the tops. Make the trek up and get some watertime. We get 8 months of snow and only 4 in water.
Did you get any Rasta shrimp while in Padre? Man, I crave that stuff.

After 15 days in board shorts in Texas, its hard to go back to neoprene when I can ride warm and dry on the snow. Wet suits are still cold and wet. But there's not much snow left, maybe a week or so, and I'll be back on the water.

The lakes at Skyline are still frozen, even tho the days are warm. Skyline definitely has a better altitude and weather for a longer winter season than other lower elevation spots. Helloween to Memorial day, seven full months...and only a 5 more months until the next good snow comes.

I'm lucky that my job requires me to kite every season in every medium. I love the water as much as the dirt and snow...but I gotta get as much snow as I can because its only here in winter.... while the earth is covered in 75% water 365 days a year.

I forgot my wetsuit the other night and rode in board shorts and a tee shirt and wasn't cold at all, until I got wet!
